Догнать америку

Подбил в одну табличку цифры - в каком году США достигли тех же параметров, что и СССР 1985года. Чтобы понять - долго ли нам еще было догонять. Получилось следующее

Для СССР, данные взяты из статсборника за 1990год.
По США нужны, возможно, некоторые пояснения: телефоны разделяются на домашние и для бизнеса только с 1944 года. Жилье считать начинают только с 1940. Жилье я считал так - бралось число "Housing Units" умножалось на средний размер и делилось на население. Телевизоры взяты здесь. Стиральные машины из предыдущего поста. Мясо отсюда (Red meat and chicken (retail weight): Per capita availability). Дороги для США - взяты как "Rural roads" пункт "Surfaced roads".

USA 1913 USSR 1984 (before Gorbachevs anti-alkohol campagin)

Life expecatncy for men after 30:
39(69) 35(65)
And that despite the fact that the USA 1913 had only 19 doctors per 10 000 while the USSR had 44 doctors....

Life expecatncy for women after 30:
41(71) 45(75)
While the USSR is a bit better here one shouldnt forget that American women 1913 gave more births then Soviet women 1985-1990 and the number of births has a tremendous impact on a womens health (especialy with the medical posibilitys around 1913....)

Sadly I have no statistics for pre 1960 USA or USSR for people 15-60 years old (more representative for grownups), but for 1984 USSR things look just as bad or even worse then when we take the older then 30 cathegory.... For instance the USSR had a far higher mortality of adoult men then Mexico around 1980....

1980 it was on the 43d place in the world here (the 42 before being mostly african countrys and other failed states) and came to place 44 in 1990.....

As for the argument that infant mortality in the pre collaps USSR was lower then in 1913 USA one could argue that it was also lower then the USA in 1990 Tanzania and many other extremly poor states which shows that the infant mortality factor has much more to do with technological development then with standart of living....
